Jersey Shore Tan Off

Ok so I honestly have never seen Jersey shore, and I am 100% OK with that....BUT  like most people I have heard of it and seen a picture or two of the crazy tan people.
WELL
My SIL and I have discovered that we feel more  "summery" when we are tan.
SO.....
We have decided to have a tan off!
Inspiration: Jersey Shore

Ok maybe not THAT extreme but you know, tan.
We are having a competition to see who is the most tan by the 4th of July family BBQ. Its kind of funny because we are both pretty fair skinned girls.
We started about a week ago and anything goes.
I have done a lot of real sun...tanning with the puppy is ALWAYS an experience, fake sun...I know, I know it's gonna kill me, and of course sunless tanner. I LOVE sunless tanner. I helps make my usually pink-tan into a tan-tan. ;-)
I know it sounds shocking but I CAN get tan...it just takes a lot of work which is why you usually see me as  pasty white. I think the tannest I have ever been was when I went on a singles cruise a few years back. I started the month before the cruise and tanned constantly as well as rubbed on that sunless tanner regularly.

Here is me on the cruise...as tan as I get. I think my brother said my face looked like leather. I love my brother...sometimes. Lets look beyond the fact that I appear to have raccoon eyes.....
I think I wouldn't mind getting this tan again...just without the raccoon eyes.
Now for those of you who like me pale...
Don't worry, I promise to be pale again by October....

It's about time I upgrade my Nikon. My current DSLR is pretty out of date and basically any model out there is an upgrade at this point.
I use to be really into photography...well, I'm still really "into" it but I use to do a lot more and practice a lot more. I have recently, the past year or two, gotten out of practice. I think I was worried people would consider me a "wannabe" or a "poser". BAH! It just seemed like so many people...everyone....was an "amateur" photographer. Maybe, subconsciously, I didn't want to pursue it any more because I didn't want to be like every other person in Utah.
Any way, I have recently gotten over this. I was thinking about it one day and wondering why I stopped. I am pretty good at it and I enjoy doing it....SO, I need to get back into it.
That being said, I have decided on what camera I want to upgrade to.....

Now you can usually find bundles for cameras that include a few lenses and usually make them cheaper....But I also really want an additional lense.... Like maybe one of these...

Now, Jeff would totally be on board with me getting a new fancier camera. For one, he is a gadget FREAK but also because then the my old DSLR would be all his. Of course he could play with the new on...once in awhile.
Sigh, now I just need to come up with a few G's. :-)

Lions and Tigers, and Crabs...Oh My!

I know this is a few days late but on Saturday my family got together and we took the niece and nephews to the zoo. So much fun! Pretty much Jeff and I hijacked my niece, Rylie, for the day...she happens to be the most agreeable little darling EVER! Any way, we saw tigers, and rhinos, and monkeys etc. The kids had a blast and I really enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Later that night, after hours of adventure, we all went to Joe's Crab Shack to eat. My SIL and Bro treated my dad to a delish steampot full of crab for his Father's day gift. Mmmmmhmmm. It was such fun. I haven't had crab in a very long time. It was so yummy and the atmosphere was really fun for the children.
All in all, we had a really enjoyable pre-fathers-day day.

It has officially been a year since I started treatment for Multiple Sclerosis. That is 52 weeks of intra-muscular shots in my thighs and a whole lot of bruising.

There have been a lot of nights I have dreaded the injections and cried out of frustration. I started out giving myself the shots and lasted about 4 months before I just couldn't do it any more. Now my wonderful husband gets to do the job.

So, it had been a year since my first MRI of my brain, and my new doctor wanted to do a follow-up MRI to see how well the medication is working. We also decided to do an MRI of my spine because MS can also show up in the spinal cord and we didn't have any baseline images.

Well, after a 1 1/2 hr MRI for my spine and a 30min MRI of my brain the verdict is in....

I have ABSOLUTELY NO MS in my SPINE and my BRAIN has NO NEW MS. My brain also showed that the old leisons are getting smaller. So, basically, the medication works and I am doing great!

I cannot even express how grateful I am for modern medication and technology. Without all these imaging devices and tests they wouldn't have been able to catch this disease so quickly and without all these annoying shots I wouldn't have been able to medicate it as well as I have been able to.
I feel so blessed that I have been able to find something that works for me and, for the time being, has helped get my disease under control.

Nap time is the best AND I think you think Im a crazy dog lady

So...I LOVE MY NAPS! When I was little I hated taking naps, now, I LIVE for naps. Of course since getting the puppy nap time and sleeping 12 hrs a day has gone away. SAD DAYS! :-( Sometimes, when I am feeling very daring, I will doze off on the love sack. I always hope when this happens the Freyja won't go pee on everything.

I try to get her to nap with me but she prefers to nap on the cold, hard tile behind the love sack. I guess this is a good thing....BUT I want the fluffy puppy to cuddle with me! SO, when she is deep asleep, I will pick her up and make her cuddle with me. Mwahahahahahahahahahaha! Of course once she wakes up and realizes where she is she either moves back to the floor or starts going crazy because she thinks its play time.

On another, slightly different note, I am pretty sure everyone at work thinks I am a crazy dog lady. No really. You see, I feel like all I ever talk about now is the puppy. She has definitely been the major topic of my blogging lately....For this, I appologize. I honestly don't mean to be obnoxious about her but she really is THE ONLY interesting thing going on in mine and Jeff's life. Yes, we are that boring...

So...want to see something crazy?!

This is a comparison picture of Freyja at six weeks and then at a little over 8 weeks. HOLY CRAP SHE IS GETTING BIG! And in only 2 weeks! It is SO SAD! I miss my really little poof ball. I mean she is still cute but she isn't as cuddly. Boo!

Any way, there you have it.
